A Brief History
I began in Shelties back in 1995. I liked the intelligence, size and overall look of the sheltie.
Not to mention that personality that seems unique to our breed. I started out with a bi-black and
a sable. After several years of working with my original lines I decided to look into some other lines.
In 2000 I emailed Kim Hudgins regarding a tri female. I met her a few months later after driving to
Canada to pick up my little tri. We had the same ideals in mind and her dogs had that special something
I was looking for. I couldn't have done it without her. She has shared some of her nicest puppies with
me. We currently co-own a couple of dogs together and continue to breed with the same goals. Thank you
Kim Hudgins!
My breeding goals are to produce soundness, with great temperaments, health and dogs that are as close to
the standard as possible. I show in conformation, but encourage all AKC events.
My handler and friend Debbie Denardo has helped to guide me along the path of Sheltiedom and to introduce
me to the wild world of dog shows. She introduced me to a great agility runner/trainer, Heidi Fellner,
who may just yet, get me to actually do some running of my own!
My dogs are all in the house. They have their own pens for relaxing, time for play in and outside. They
are spoiled and loved. My home has a nice size fenced yard where on nice days they spend outside and
evenings with us by the patio. On not so nice days, everyone gets turns on the ottoman and couch. I
feed Purina and use the new vaccine protocol. I am located about 15 miles north of Pittsburgh, PA.
I am close to the Airport, several interstates and the Ohio border.
Breeding Program
I breed only a couple litters a year usually. I have Tri's, Blue's, Sable's and occasionally Bi-colors.
I breed to improve and usually do have a few pet quality and show/breeding quality puppies available.
Puppies are born in my office, in the center of all activity, so that they may be exposed to different
situations early for socialization.
Stud service is available to APPROVED bitches. These girls must be of sound mind and body, come from
ethical breeders and have all their tests done. I do not breed to Pet store or Puppy Mill dogs! If
I decide that a bitch is not going to be the right match for one of my boys, I can help direct you to
someone who has a boy who would better suit her.
Puppies
As stated above, I do have puppies available from time to time. All pet puppies are sold on a STRICT
neuter/spay contract. These puppies are sound in mind and body, but have some reason why they shouldn't
be bred or shown. Size, color, very obvious gait or body faults. This does not mean a puppy is not
healthy. They are great pets and can compete in any other AKC event. Show/Breeding prospects are
sold to those interested in improving or maintaing the breed. They must be ethical, test their dogs
and be in good standing with the Kennel Clubs. ALL puppy buyers will be asked for references! I
do have waiting lists on puppies. If you would like to be added for a particular breeding, please do
email me. I will be glad to help!
I do ship dogs/puppies if weather permits. Temperatures must not be too hot or cold. Shipping cost
is the responsibilty of the Buyer. I can and will meet people halfway if the distance is reasonable.
Cost of this depends on distance and current gas prices.
Please have a look around the site. I am more then happy to answer any questions you may have. If you
are looking for something in particular that I may not have, please email me. I may know of someone
who does! Thanks for taking the time to read about Challey and have fun!
